Hundreds of visitors have walked the site of the magnificent Charlevoix Maritime Museum, Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, to celebrate the annual feast of the sea, and family field day to soak in the history of people those who developed the sea in the region.
 
"The feast of the sea is a big invitation to the community to take possession of the museum that pays tribute to seafarers and innovative manufacturers who have shaped the maritime history of Charlevoix and have developed their own risk the shipbuilding industry no support for today's technology, "said Louisiana Gauthier, executive director of the organization.

The 2009 edition has allowed visitors to walk the decks and the wheelhouse of the schooner St. Andrew, built in La Malbaie used by Captain Fernand Gagnon and that was the last to sail on the St. Lawrence River.
 
The blue and white ship was completely restored at a cost of about $ 1 million project that began in 2000 and culminated nine years later, after untold hours of work. The St-Andrew is now permanently protected under a huge metal structure.
 
The race of sea kayaking, organized by Sébastien Savard of Katabatik, brought together 25 participants. The test in the single adult class was won by David Bergeron, the tandem by Rita Tremblay and Jean-Yves Vallée family and class, by Robin and Alexandre Tremblay.

The children were asked to build models of small boat, under the watchful eye of parents, volunteers and clown Atchoum.
 
A hot dog meal to the menu has been offered to people who walked on the site before the delivery of Gabi and Munzô, artists of the cultural diversity of Quebec today, followed by the famous race small boats in the River Boudreault, activity benefit remains popular with the population.
